This Danish duo has re-emerged with an album that perfectly distills the band's'60s noir-pop song craft and fuzz-guitar clamor into a sensuous voyage. Showcasing a broader palette and a newly cinematic sense of drama on Lust Lust Lust, the band retains the compelling combination of sexy pop songs and rock'n'roll urgency that have made them critics'darlings.
Reviews:
In case you're new to this dark retro duo, the name's pronounced like it sounds: rave-on-ettes. And that name conjures everything from '60s girl group the Ronettes to the unmistakable clatter of Jesus & Mary Chain. The Danish duo (axeman Sune Rose Wagner and co-conspirator bassist beauty Sharin Foo) have never met a haunting harmony (or effects pedal) they didn't like. Fun fact: This fourth album allegedly employs no live drums or bass.
