Already having cut her road teeth up and down the East Coast solo, indie rock wunderkid and unashamed pop music lover Jasamine White-Gluz decided to trade in her acoustic for an electric guitar and a fuzz pedal. In Spring 2005, Bad Flirt released 6 Ways to Break Your Heart, a bouncy EP that married Jasamine's love of early 90's guitar-based British indie rock and late 90's post-hardcore in a rock/power pop package with electronic flourishes scattered throughout. But underneath all the fuzz, effects, sinewy bass and rollicking drums, Bad Flirt remains a pop band. "Pop" isn't a dirty world to Jasamine; she just prefers it with a little fuzz around the edges. 6 Ways... received enormous support in the Canadian college radio scene (CISM Montréal #1, CJLO Montréal #1, CKDU Halifax #7, CKXU Lethbridge #7, CHRW London #16, CKCU Ottawa #28, CHSR Fredericton #2, CFMH Saint John #13, CFUR Prince George #15), and "Kisses, Kisses", the EP's lead track, debuted at #8 on SOPREF's "Baromètre". June 6 will see the release of Head On as a 7"/CD Single through Frigid Ember Records. The title track opens with a jaunty keyboard riff before diving into a dance-rock refrain that would bring the most reluctant of all hipsters to their feet. "Oh, One" is a reworked version of a song from 6 Ways to Break Your Heart, transforming the track from a mellow electronically-tinged number to a distortion-heavy rocker. Now touring with a brand new and expanded lineup (the previous rhythm section of Heidi Donnely and Edmund Lam left amicably to focus on Hexes and Ohs, while ex-lead guitarist Marc Greenberg, uh, actually has a real life), Bad Flirt have flourished into a louder, noisy pop outfit that's ready to bring their new songs on the road to a larger audience.
