A Sweet Story... Sometimes, you don\'t get a choice when it comes to music - music chooses you, the muse is persistent. When she is, if you don\'t write, don\'t sing, don\'t play, don\'t perform, the universe can seem bleak - out of balance. Sister Sweet, is fronted by Jesi and Tina who have been best friends and artistic partners for over 10 years. But this is a project where every one in the band has that passion to create, to play. As a writer, as a performer, the first need is to express yourself - to give artistic voice to the beautiful as well as the sometimes hideous things that churn inside each of us. But the hope is also that by channelling and revealing those universal truths that your music will touch, inspire, exorcise demons, heal old wounds, wake someone up and ultimately let people know they are not the first...they are not alone. Sister Sweet features original material from both Jesi and Tina as well as some cover tunes - from Gershwin to the Beattles. Mark Henderson (drums) and Tom Crosby (bass) are equally passionate and inspired as players, and generously add their breath to Jesi and Tina\'s creations. Together a wonderful, collaborative chemistry has emerged. Sister Sweet is inspired by good music-period. The Beatles, Sheryl Crowe, Fleetwood Mac, The Police, K. T. Tunstall, Cowboy Junkies, Johnny Cash, Ella Fitzgerald, Curtis Mayfield, Mavis Staples, Bonnie Raitt, Lucinda Williams, Patti Griffin, Billie Holiday, Radiohead, Leo Kottke, Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen, the list could be endless. And traces of all those influences can be found in our music. But sometimes the inspiration to create doesn\'t just come from music...it comes from life...from the mundane every day, to the miraculous and magical. Inspiration can be found in love, betrayal, compromise, insecurity, loss, confusion, wonder, the quiet solitude of winter, the emergence of spring, poets, bad TV, over-indulgence, guilt, obligation, mystery, paradox, freedom, fortune, uncertainty, contradiction, the need to be loved, the need to be alone, the sad beauty of rain, dreams pursued, dreams unrealized, limitations, societal stigmas, determination, procrastination, lonliness. The inspiration to create can be found anywhere - if you\'re looking. And if you listen to our music - you\'ll see that we\'re always looking. Namaste.
