More Info:
More mature yet retaining the immediacy that marks all their work, Float may find the widest audience acceptance of any Flogging Molly album as hard charging tunes give way to more sober ruminations. The overall effect is a symphonic layering of sound that possesses a unique rhythmic flow from boisterous to bereaved and back again.Reviews:
Somebody'"probably Michael Mann'"needs to write and direct the Los Angeles version of The Departed so this hard-charging Irish septet can get their soundtrack due. Along with Dropkick Murphys, they're the most popular of the recent wave of folk-punk, buttressing their eclectic barn burners with tin whistle, accordion, bouzouki, mandolin and banjo. Their last crossover hit was "Drunken Lullabies," from the album of the same name in 2002. Hopefully Float can regain some momentum.
