Global neo-soul rock superstars, Maroon 5 are back with their much-anticipated sophomore album, It Won't Be Soon Before Long. The follow-up to the 10 times platinum, Grammy award-winning Songs About Jane will be sexier and stronger, according to frontman Adam Levine, who looked to 80s icons such as Prince, Michael Jackson and Talking Heads for inspiration. Recorded at home in Los Angeles with producers Mike Elizondo (Fiona Apple, Eminem), Mark Spike Stent (Bjork, Keane, Gwen Stefani), Mark Endert (Madonna, Fiona Apple), and Eric Valentine (Queens of the Stone Age, Nickel Creek) the album promises to be a louder take on the pop sounds of their first effort. It's definitely aggressive, upbeat and pounding, says Levine.

Reviews:

''It Won't Be Soon Before Long'' is Maroon 5's second studio album, released on May 22, 2007. It came almost a full five years after their debut, ''Songs About Jane''. The name was inspired by a phrase the band adopted to keep themselves motivated while on their tour. The album debuted at number one on the U.S. ''Billboard'' 200, selling 429,484 copies in its first week. - Wikipedia

The sophomore effort. Finally. Man, does it take these guys a long time to put out records. But when you think about it, what's the rush? They're good-looking, they're talented, and if frontstud Adam Levine's recent digital short action with SNL's Andy Samberg is any indication, they're funny, too. In other words, the fans aren't going anywhere, and they won't "outgrow" the white boy soul herein the way they did *NSYNC. Hell, M5 can even get away with stupid album titles.

Nice Meatloaf album title, boys. You might think the L.A. soul-rockers are seriously sabotaging their career, waiting three years to follow up breakout Songs About Jane, but they're probably not sweating it. After all, they're already influential enough that Fall Out Boy just released more or less an entire album of M5 worship. So unless frontman Adam Levine had a Mark Hamill style car crash and scarred up that pretty mug, you can count on love taking its toll (at the bank) again and again this summer.
