From the flex-your-head raw power of their first single"The End"to the graphic lyrics ("I carve out my lungs...") of the hugely hooky"Eulog"' to the unrelenting rhythm of"Delusional,"Saves the Day sound more visceral, raw, and dangerous than ever before.Reviews:
''Sound the Alarm'' is the fifth studio album by the New Jersey band Saves the Day, it was released by Vagrant Records on April 11, 2006. It was produced by Steve Evetts who also produced Saves the Day's first two albums: ''Can't Slow Down'' and ''Through Being Cool''. All the album's lyrics were written by Chris Conley.
This album was hailed by many as something of a return to the band's classic sound, after the sonic departure of 2003's ''In Reverie''.
''Sound the Alarm'' reached number 67 on the Billboard 200 Album Chart .
''Sound the Alarm'' is part one of a three part concept Chris Conley stated in an interview with Punknews.org. - Wikipedia
"This song will become the anthem of your under-grooooooound!" Remember that one? Jeez, were you watching TRL in 2001 or what? Okay, so Chris Conley didnt quite become emos Elvis (labelmate Chris Carrabba handled that), but STDs hyper-personal diary ditties at least had (and have) some bounce. It wasn't too long ago that Chris Carrabba was to Bryan Adams as Conor Oberst was to Bob Dylan, and these guys were to Journey as Desaparecidos were to the Clash. Yeah, the emo bubble sure did burst. But STD (unfortunate acronym if there ever was one) have maintained their pop sensibilities, which will make many young ladies happy.
