''Brooklyn's Don Diva'' is a street album and fourth studio album from American hip-hop artist Foxy Brown. Released on May 13, 2008, it was intended to be the follow-up to 2001's ''Broken Silence''. According to ''Rolling Stone'' magazine, the album would be released prior to ''Black Roses'', the album that she has been working on since 2004 and was recorded in Chung King Studios in New York City. However, Brown has claimed that the album is not her fourth studio album, but rather a mixtape release. Several tracks ("When the Lights Go Out", "We Don't Surrender", "Star Cry") have been released to iTunes, as intended singles to promote the mixtape. Several beats were produced by Polish beatmaker Matheo. - WikipediaPushed back from November' and February' but today it's actually coming out, swear to blog! Inga "Foxy Brown" Marchand may have a rap sheet to rival her male peers, but boasts the skills to compensate. She seems to have finally landed on her feet after leaving Jay-Z and Def Jam behind, enlisting the services of Timbaland, Swizz Beatz, Kanye and the Neptunes. "Star Cry," the long-leaked first single, is hopefully indicative of the diva-rifficness to come. In Stores May 13.
Pushed back from November'"whee! Foxy may have a rap sheet to rival her male peers, but boasts the skills to compensate. It's a shame that after three successful solo albums, she's been a non-factor in the game lately. Some of it has to do with incarceration, some with her (thankfully temporary) hearing loss. Yet, she seems to have landed on her feet after leaving Jay-Z and Def Jam behind, enlisting the services of Timbaland, Swizz Beatz, Kanye and the Neptunes here.
