Reviews:

Boy, are these guys setting themselves up for the snaps with that moniker. The Academy Is' S***ty, anyone? That sort of thing would probably stick if these Illinois kids were just another wussy emo pretty boy train wreck. Thing is, while TAI are, wussy emo pretty boys, they're certainly no train wreck. Fueled by Ramen has done some nice minor league conditioning with hip barely legal rockers over the last couple of years, prepping Gym Class Heroes and Paramore for bigger things and bigger audiences. The Academy Is' Ready for Their Close-Up, perhaps? That Honda Civic tour with Fall Out Boy probably isn't hurting their ascent that much. As for the actual tuneage, the band's pop chops perfectly complement frontman William Beckett's fey come-ons, especially on indelible first single "We've Got a Big Mess on Our Hands." Ha! Anything but.
