Indie Exclusive - The "Family Tree" vocal group was born from a Brockington-Saunders family reunion. Dr. Elijah Saunders and Mrs. Venus Robinson organized the first gathering in Baltimore in 1975 to explore their shared heritage. At a second reunion in South Carolina in 1977, the Family Tree singers were formed. Dr. Saunders recognized their outstanding vocal talent and believed they could serve as God's messengers, sharing their message beyond just family events. With the creative direction and expertise of Julius Brockington, this LP was composed and recorded. Not much more is known about this Christian band, but they evolved from jamming at a family reunion to recording some of the finest gospel music of the 1970s. The result is a surprisingly well-produced and highly sought-after collection of songs. Though rooted in gospel, this record effortlessly blends into funk, soul, and dance. Now available on pink-colored vinyl.

Indie Exclusive - Vince Guaraldi’s score for “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" came out for the first time ever for the special’s 50thanniversary and charted as a top Jazz, soundtrack and children’s album upon its release, selling out all available copies. The complete soundtrack to the celebrated animated holiday television special, written and created by Charles Schulz, directed by Bill Melendez and Phil Roman and produced by Melendez and Lee Mendelson, includes the long-awaited release of many of Guaraldi’s classic compositions and performances along with never-before-heard bonus material.

Newly re-discovered in LMFP’s vaults, the original recording sessions for Vince Guaraldi's beloved soundtrack have been remixed and remastered for audiophiles and Peanuts® fans everywhere. The album includes many previously unreleased tracks, several never heard since the Vince Guaraldi Quintet laid them down for the recording session in 1973. All the songs were remastered from the original 2" 16 track source tapes.

This soundtrack from the 1973 holiday classic includes Guaraldi hits from the original sources like the funky brass filled "Linus and Lucy," "Thanksgiving Theme," and the soulful "Little Birdie." You will hear timbres from instruments that were previously buried in the show mix. Furthermore, there are bonus tracks for "Thanksgiving Interlude" demonstrating how Guaraldi crafted his score for the special; an additional keyboard on "Linus and Lucy;" and Guaraldi whistling the melody for "Is It James or Charlie?"

Beyond the composer's piano playing, the quintet is made up of Mike Clark on drums; Seward McCain (longest touring bassist with Guaraldi - holding down the electric bass at Guaraldi's request); Tom Harrell on trumpet to class up the album; and Chuck Bennett on Trombone. This is some of the funkiest Guaraldi you'll hear as his quintet leaned into the East Bay Sound, a type of funk that Mike Clark helped pioneer in the early ’70s. Guaraldi even lends his bluesy voice to introduce Woodstock with "Little Birdie." The album was remix engineered by Terry Carleton, restored and mastered by Vinson Hudson, and produced by Sean and Jason Mendelson. All versions include liner notes by Sean Mendelson and artwork from the original special. This Indie Exclusive repressing comes in a limited and exclusive Purple Jelly Bean Purple variant.

Indie Exclusive - Include 4 bonus tracks - Formed from the remnants of Californian pop group 'The Young Swingers,' 1965 marked a pivotal moment for the members of the psychedelic folk-rock group 'Ashes.' Originating in Santa Monica, the original lineup of Alan Brackett, Jim Cherniss, Spencer Dryden, John Merrill, and Barbara Robinson began playing local clubs and released two now-obscure singles in 1965. By 1966, they adopted the name 'Ashes' and underwent personnel changes, with Cherniss departing and Dryden leaving to join Jefferson Airplane. Brackett and Merrill subsequently formed The Peanut Butter Conspiracy but reformed 'Ashes' in 1968 with new singer Pat Taylor and drummer John Voight. Recorded in 1968 and produced by Jackie Mills, the self-titled "Ashes" is a dreamy, acid folk-rock piece that was initially shelved but released by Vault Records in 1971. Now reissued on blue vinyl with extra recordings, this album is an excellent slice of mid-1960s Southern California lite-rock.

"Coalmine Records is pleased to announce the ten year anniversary of Sean Price & M-Phazes’ collaborative Land of the Crooks EP. The project finds the late underground legend lending his distinctive, Brownsville-bred grimy vocals over Phazes’ rich tracks full of dramatic pianos, rich bass-lines, swinging horns and hard drums, making this release one of the more beleoved projects within Coalmine’s storied discography. The A-side includes the main passes, comprised of four original tracks with the addition of the Small Professor Remix for “Murdah Type Thinkin” featuring P’s Random Axe cohort, Guilty Simpson. The B-side includes all instrumental passes, in addition to the “Crookapella,” which includes various scratch stems taken from the EP, along with various isolated drum sounds, sound effects, and an acapella of the “Land of the Crooks” single. Additional features on LOTC include Roc Marciano, Billy Danze (of M.O.P.), Maffew Ragazino, Loudmouf Choir and DJ Babu. Features Andres Guzman designed artwork inspired by the vintage ‘80s movie, Crocodile Dundee. Sean Price was Hip-Hop’s Gray Hulk, a barbarian with the pen, with the sharpest of wits. A true Brooklyn legend…RIP!"
