While many know Bergman as one half of brother-sister duo Wild Belle, her forthcoming record is a cathartic collection rooted in the hopeful values and traditions of gospel that have helped her through the recent, tragic loss of her father. On the signing of Natalie Bergman, Third Man Records co-founder Ben Swank adds, “Natalie has a unique vision and has approached this album with a reverence for the sacred and healing nature of the history of this music, but has managed to update it in a way that is distinctly her own. We're very excited to welcome her to the Third Man label and family.” Alongside her brother Elliot, the island-influenced music Natalie Bergman made in Wild Belle has led to collaborations ranging from Major Lazer to Tom Tom Club, performances at Coachella and Lollapalooza, tours with Beck, Cage The Elephant, Toro y Moi and more. Helmed by her heavenly voice, Bergman’s solo album is steeped in mystic melodies and time-bending tones of psychedelic rock and soul. Showcasing her multi-instrumental and creative versatility, songs will be accompanied by visuals that blend her own abstract artwork, self-designed wardrobe and beyond. Stay tuned.
Nancy Wilson has recorded 16 albums and sold over 35 million albums worldwide with her band, Heart. Within that history-making career, You and Me represents something special, as it is Nancy Wilson’s very first solo studio album.
You and Me was primarily recorded in Wilson’s California home studio, working with band members and special guests remotely. Most of the tracks are originals, but Wilson decided to include a handful of covers by a few of her favorites, including her moving version of Bruce Springsteen’s “The Rising,” a female perspective of Pearl Jam’s “Daughter,” a stirring turn of Simon & Garfunkel’s “The Boxer” featuring Sammy Hagar, and an ethereal cover of the Cranberries “Dreams,” featuring Liv Warfield from Nancy’s previous band Roadcase Royale. The album also includes Guns N’ Roses’ Duff McKagan, and Foo Fighters’ Taylor Hawkins on a new track, “Party at the Angel Ballroom.”
The title track and first single “You and Me” highlights the intimate feel of the album. Like all the legendary music she’s created with Heart, “You and Me” is an emotional, intimate conversation between a musician and an audience.
With each new release, Elias Bender Rønnenfelt, Jakob Tvilling Pless, Jojan Surrballe Wieth and Dan Kjær Nielsen refigure the contours of a typical Iceage song. This is especially true of Seek Shelter, their fifth LP and first for Mexican Summer. Enrolling Sonic Boom (Pete Kember of Spacemen 3) to produce the record and an additional guitarist, Casper Morilla, the album sees Iceage's propulsive momentum pushing them in new, expansive, ecstatic directions, exploring a new emotional palette, replete with romantic piano balladry, invocations of patron saints, and a gospel choir.
Esther Rose was in perpetual motion when she wrote How Many Times. In the span of two years, she moved three times, navigated the end of a relationship, and began touring more than ever. The New Orleans-based singer-songwriter used that momentum while she penned her third studio album. That's why, as the album title's nod to the cyclical nature of life implies, there's a rush that accompanies How Many Times as if you're experiencing an awakening, too.
With the integrity of Dean Johnson, Faustina Masigat, and Kiki Cavazos serving as primary influences, Rose expands her alt-country sound into a blossoming world of folk pop, rustic americana, and tender harmonies. A collection of complete takes recorded live to tape with rich instrumentation, soul-tugging hooks, and resonating vocal melodies, How Many Times carries you into the room in which it was made. There to help realize this was co-producer Ross Farbe of synthpop band Video Age, who Rose also credits for bringing a stereo pop glow to these new songs. From opening for Nick Lowe on tour to being asked to sing on Jack White's latest album, Rose's journey through the past few years has been one of saying yes to new opportunities, all while nurturing and playing in bands in the New Orleans country music scene. The arrival of How Many Times is evidence of the sweeping growth Rose has undergone, both personally and artistically. She's turning towards her troubles and facing them head-on, ready to feel whatever's necessary in order to keep growing upwards and outwards.

Van Morrison will release ‘Latest Record Project: Volume 1’ on May 7th on Exile/BMG. His 42nd record and his most dynamic and contemporary album in years, ‘Latest Record Project: Volume 1’ is a 28-track delve into his ongoing love of blues, R&B, jazz and soul. However much you may love his classic albums, this new project proves that he’s living in the present, and remains an artist of integrity and distinction.
“I’m getting away from the perceived same songs, same albums all the time,” says Morrison. “This guy’s done 500 songs, maybe more, so hello? Why do you keep promoting the same ten? I’m trying to get out of the box.”
‘Latest Record Project: Volume 1’ is the result of our enforced period of isolation. Unable to tour, Morrison remained busy with constant songwriting, starting ideas on piano, guitar or saxophone. What emerged is a wealth of new material, which shimmers with a directness and vibrancy that comes from working with a rhythm section with whom he shares an immediate, spontaneous connection.
Dexter Gordon had been living in Europe for several years when he recorded One Flight Up, one of his masterpieces, in Paris in 1964. TEKE::TEKE is a unique beast. A seven-piece experimental-rock band that fuses traditional Japanese instruments and influences with loud fuzzy guitars, trombone, flute, keys and a powerhouse rhythm section to create a modern take on a sound reminiscent of 1960's-70's-era psychedelic Japanese soundtracks. The delirious yet sharp song arrangements are a perfect playground for vocalist Maya Kuroki's wide range of singing and theatrical delivery, where her voice sometimes screams frantically and sometimes soothes. Live, the band's frenetic energy is palpable, a vibrant punk circus that hits you like a storm. Their debut album 'SHIRUSHI' (or 'signs of great changes to come') takes you through a vast array of imagery and sonic landscapes. Recorded and mixed by Seth Manchester (Battles, Daughters) at Machines with Magnets and mastered by Heba Kadry (Bjork, Julianna Barwick), the resulting album is as storied and unique as the band itself.
Amy Winehouse's At The BBC features tracks from appearances on Later... with Jools Holland over the years, notably Amy's first performance on the show in 2003 with "Stronger Than Me." The 3LP set is housed in a triple gatefold package and is pressed on 180-gram black vinyl.
Andrew Hill is one of the most distinctive pianists/composers in jazz. Recorded in 1969, it sat unreleased until 2003 when it was issued on CD thanks to archivist Michael Cuscuna. Hill penned all compositions for an ensemble featuring Woody Shaw, Dizzy Reece, Julian Priester, Joe Farrell, Howard Johnson, Bob Northern, Ron Carter and Lenny White. This is presented for the first time on vinyl. Blue Note Tone Poet Series features all-analog, remastered 180-gram vinyl in deluxe gatefold packaging.
"I play yours, you play mine. The music never ends." The wisdom of the late, great Afrobeat drummer Tony Allen's words was as deep as his grooves, and his words truly capture the spirit of There is No End. For a man "born into rhythms," the thousands of grooves he recorded, the innumerable more he performed on stages the world over, all make it clear that while this album marks the coda of a legendary career, it will inspire generations more of musicians, artists and fans who hear it. 2 LP.
Bright Green Field is an album of towering scope and ambition, it is deeply considered, paced and intricately constructed. With all band members playing such a vital and equal role, this album is very much the product of five heads operating as one. Some bands might be tempted to include previous singles on their debut - and the band already released two more in 2020 via 'Sludge' and 'Broadcaster' - but instead Bright Green Field is completely new. This sense of limitlessness and perpetual forward motion is one of the the key ingredients that makes Squid so loved by fans and critics alike, from BBC Radio 6 Music who have A-Listed previous singles, 'Houseplants', 'The Cleaner' and 'Match Bet' to publications such as, The Guardian, NME, The Face, The Quietus and countless others. The band was also on the longlist for the BBC Music Sound of 2020 poll.
Cooked up in the Blue Note Lab, RMX presents last year’s band-defining masterpiece, GoGo Penguin, re-imagined through the filter of some of the world’s finest producers and remixers. Amongst the many highlights are Squarepusher’s thumping remix of F Maj Pixie, alongside Japanese producers Cornelius and Yosicreating sublime new landscapes with the band’s music on Kora and Embers. James Holden assembles an epic synth odyssey around Totem and Portico Quartet produce a sympathetic reworking of Don’t Go. Band faves Clark and Nathan Fake produce inimitable reworkings as does noted French producer Rone, while American producer Machine Drum turns Atomised into dance floor friendly ‘belter’ which is also the first single. Finally, the band have not forgotten their hometown - Manchester is well represented, with remixes from elder statesman and dance music legend Graham Massey (808 state) and new discovery Shunya, whose enigmatic reworking of To The Nth almost steals the record.
Canadian rock/metal crossover quartet SUMO CYCO transcend into an explosive new era with their third full-length album and Napalm Records debut, Initiation – inviting a mass of new fans into their warped, dystopian-like world of “Cyco City”! Interlaced with infectious heavy metal grooves, pop-perfected hooks, electronic undertones and a dose of punk flavor, Initiation breaks all the rules while delivering a cohesive yet purely unbridled sonic adventure. As with its predecessors Lost In Cyco City (2014), Opus Mar (2017) and countless singles, Initiation is based in the imaginative conceptual location of “Cyco City”, and builds upon the theme, its characters, and more specifically, its faction-like “gangs”. But unlike most concept albums, the lyrical content is inspired by the band’s real-time environment – featuring timely, personal themes of love, sacrifice, anxiety, empowerment and more that all listeners can relate to. At the album’s start, the Hamilton, Ontario natives light a spark with the seductively hooked track “Love You Wrong”, connecting like a punch and setting the stage for the vigor to come. The blitz continues with standouts like lethal room-mover “Bystander” and electronic-infused, in-your-face rock anthem “Vertigo” – the latter standing tall with its airtight, gritty pop sensibility and featuring the production mastery of Juno Award-winning producer Kane Churko (Ozzy Osbourne, In This Moment, Papa Roach). Swiftly followed by erratic, addictive nod-to-the-times “Bad News” and heavy, creeping success “No Surrender”, Initiation proves not even halfway through that the band’s songwriting ability and the commanding performance prowess of Juno Award nominee and former pop star-turned-rock frontwoman Skye “Sever” Sweetnam, guitarist Matt “MD13” Drake, bassist Oscar Anesetti and drummer Matt "Trozzi" blend a recipe for greatness. The album continues winding through a mastery of heavy-meets-pop execution before ending with the full-throttle, sugar n’ salt packed album closer “This Dance Is Doomed” (while various editions cap off with sultry, confident “Awakened”). By the end of Initiation, listeners will wonder just what exactly SUMO CYCO can’t do, proving them as a band on the rise, and that unconventionality always stands out from the pack.
Princess Goes to the Butterfly museum is a new alternative band, self-described as 'Gothadelic Rocktronic' with influences from David Bowie to Black Sabbath to Donna Summer, all with a unique and modern spin. The band is comprised of a powerhouse trio: vocalist Michael C. Hall who's TV credits include "Dexter" and "Six Feet Under" and Broadway credits include lead roles in Hedwig and the Angry Inch and Lazarus, keyboardist Matthew Katz Bohen from iconic rock band Blondie, and drummer Peter Yanowitz of Wallflowers and Morningwood. The band has already received coverage from media heavyweights to include Billboard, Paper Magazine, American Songwriter, Consequence of Sound, and more. Their debut album Thanks for Coming was written primarily during the pandemic, and tones and themes both sinister and sublime can be found throughout the music. With a loyal fan base and media buzz, PGTTBM is sure to be a breakthrough act of 2021.
Results of Adults are based in Birmingham, Alabama, and consist of Tym Cornell on vocals, guitar, piano, and an endless assemblage of noise-making devices; his creative partner and wife, Merry Bee Cornell, on bass; and Mark Beasley on drums and percussion. Formed in 2006, they have spent the last decade and a half concocting their own alternative history of psychedelic pop where altered states of consciousness, a Southern outsider folk art tradition, and well-crafted, irresistible songwriting lay happily side by side.

Deemed “The King of the Road” by The Wall Street Journal, Kenny Chesney is the only country artist in the Top 10 on Billboard’s Top Touring Acts of the Last 25 Years – a staggering feat given he’s only been headlining since 2002. Known for his high energy shows, songs that celebrate life as real people live it and a strong sense of musicality, Chesney’s won eight Entertainer of the Year Awards (four consecutive from the Academy of Country Music, four from the Country Music Association), had 30 No. 1s and sold in excess of 30 million albums, as well as more than a million tickets on each of his headlining tours. He’s topped the charts with Grace Potter, Pink, the Wailers Band, Dave Matthews, Uncle Kracker and both a due with and co-produced an album for Willie Nelson. Currently climbing the charts with his latest single "Here and Now" from his upcoming album Here and Now slated for release May 1, Chesney's hits include “Young,” “You and Tequila,” “When the Sun Goes Down,” “Everybody Wants To Go To Heaven,” “Pirate Flag,” “Summertime,” “I Go Back,” “Somewhere With You,” “American Kids,” “Setting the World on Fire” and most-recently, “Get Along.”
Life By Misadventure is the new album from Rag ‘n’ Bone Man, and is the follow up to his 2017 ground breaking, critically acclaimed debut, Human. The album was announced with the release of the first single, “All You Ever Wanted.”
Rory Graham, aka Rag‘n’Bone Man, tore up the rule book and went to Nashville to write and record what would become Life By Misadventure. The bulk of the album was produced and recorded by Grammy Award-winning producer and multi-instrumentalist Mike Elizondo (Eminem, 50 Cent, Fiona Apple, Alanis Morissette), and was recorded purposefully like a live album, so the sound is real and 100% human.
Musicians on the album include long time collaborators Ben Jackson-Cook (keyboards, co-songwriter and co-producer of the album), Bill Banwell (bass, and co-songwriter) and Desri Ramus (backing vocals), who are joined by drummer Daru Jones (Lazaretto-Jack White) and guitarist Wendy Melvoin who joined Prince’s Revolution at the age of 19. Together these musicians have made an album full of joy and immediacy, something all too rare these days of autotune and countless overdubs.
Life By Misadventure is an album of depth and soul, about growing up and moving forward.

New 180g Silver/White splatter vinyl pressing. Soon after forming the band, "Phish" (aka The White Tape) was created from four-track recordings which the band and band members mixed, dubbed and circulated as a demo. It consists of an assortment of four-track recordings from 1984-1985 including four songs recorded by all the existing members of Phish as a band: Alumni Blues, AC/DC Bag, Slave To The Traffic Light and Dog Gone Dog (a/k/a Dog Log). The balance was recorded separately by the band members and blended together from 4-track cassettes to create the album as we know it. Trey has said The White Tape exemplifies, perhaps more than any other studio effort, the band's unbridled creative freedom of the day. In 1998, The White Tape was re-mastered from the 2-track cassette master. The original art for the cassette demo was created by Trey himself and was updated for release by artist Jim Pollock.
Finally, there’s a cvlt worth joining! It often seems modern rock music has lost its sense of palpable danger and mystique, but Finnish occult murder pop innovators CVLT OV THE SVN mark its return in full force with their grim, addictive first full length, We Are The Dragon (May 7th via Napalm Records). Each of the album’s twelve tracks cut through the noise of society like a razorblade, leaving a long-lasting impression on the listener that’ll have them clamoring for more! Conceptually conveying a variety of extreme emotions, CVLT OV THE SVN’s debut embodies a reverberating sense of eeriness, danger and fear, enriched with a pinch of gothic romanticism and pitch-black seduction. With the unveiling of previously-released goth-boppers like “Twilight”, “The Pit”, “Whore Of Babylon” and “Luna In The Sky Forever”, CVLT OV THE SVN have already proven how to successfully merge seething heaviness and sweet pop melodies, offering a glimpse of what lies ahead. Now, the mysterious creative visionary behind the band, who actually started out as a black metal drummer, finally sets free his casket full of morbid horror theatrics. Inspired by movies like The Exorcist and the all devouring darkness itself, he also draws inspiration not only from the heavy rock genre and greats like Type O Negative, Marilyn Manson and Turbonegro, but calls on nostalgic influences of mainstream artists like Roxette as well. Kicking off with one of the very first songs written for CVLT OV THE SVN, the exceptionally powerful “We Are The Dragon'', the album’s ritualistic synthesis of striking artistry and wickedness is immediately apparent. The sinfulness continues to bloom throughout the album – especially on standout tracks like “My Venom”, “Hellbound” and “Dancing With The Devil” – all driving the listener into a deep sense of escapism so sorely needed at uncertain times like these. CVLT OV THE SVN invades your blackened soul with We Are The Dragon – join the cvlt!
Here are 4 new tracks from A Certain Ratio for the first of 3 EPs ACR:EPA, which will be followed by ACR:EPC and ACR:EPR. This first EP is the last session that ACR recorded with Denise Johnson before she passed and was recorded just before lockdown 1 in 2020. There is a real sense of joy in the recordings and what has materialized from what was basically a jam session to use up the studio time they had left.
The first Tunng album! Originally released in 2005 on Static Caravan. This is the first time on vinyl since 2006. Lovingly restored from the original masters and re-cut in 2020. Indie Exclusive on clear vinyl. Limited Edition.
Kôrôlén is a very special collaboration between two titans in music: Toumani Diabaté, the Grammy-winning Malian kora virtuoso, and the London Symphony Orchestra, renowned worldwide for their performances of orchestral music on record, film and stage. Diabaté, a griot whose musical lineage stretches back generations, is well known as one of the most creative musicians on the African continent, and is almost single-handedly responsible for bringing the iconic sound of the kora to worldwide audiences. No stranger to a genre-defying collaboration, he has recorded two Grammy-winning albums alongside desert blues pioneer Ali Farka Touré, as well as projects with Taj Mahal, Björk, Béla Fleck, Damon Albarn and Afrocubism. Commissioned as a special project by the Barbican Centre in London and produced by World Circuit, these recordings feature Diabaté and his group of eminent Malian musicians (including Kasse Mady Diabaté and Lassana Diabaté), accompanied by the soaring presence of the LSO, in dedicated arrangements by Nico Muhly and Ian Gardiner and conducted by Clark Rundell. The title bestowed by Diabaté on this unique and groundbreaking release, “Kôrôlén,” translates from the Mandinka language as “ancestral”—a fitting theme for an album that brings together ancient griot melodies and Western orchestral arrangements, resulting in an achingly beautiful and fresh Afro-neo- classical sound that will appeal to admirers of African, traditional and new classical, and ambient music.
Baltimore-born, Hamburg-based, composer and singer Sophia Kennedy will release here sophomore album Monsters via City Slang on Friday 7th May. It's the first release since her self-titled album came out on DJ Koze's Pampa label in 2017. City Slang have joined forces with Pampa for the release of new album. Sophia Kennedy's music sometimes sounds like a soundtrack to a world disintegrating, hanging on by a thread of memories, it combines the glamour and the morbid charm of tin pan alley show tunes from the 1960s or 70s and yet it fully embraces the deconstructed modernism of club music. Her new album Monsters, is full of plot twists, moments of prettiness dashed with paranoia. Monsters is pop music teetering on the verge of ruin. Growing up in Germany after her family emigrated from Baltimore, Sophia Kennedy developed an ear for off-centred songcraft picking through her mum's record collection. Kennedy moved to Hamburg to study film and ended up making music for theatre productions. Her involvement in the local creative community led her through the doors of the 'Golden Pudel', a techno nightclub. Immersed in Hamburg's dance music scene she met Mense Reents, a musician best known for his work with the celebrated house act, Die Vögel. The pair formed a writing and production partnership, and would make Sophia's eponymously-titled debut record together in 2017 which was released through DJ Koze's label Pampa. One step further is where Kennedy has taken her sound on Monsters. It's full of hints of a former life, abstract melodic turns, instrumentation that shouldn't work, but does, wrongness that's right. 'Seventeen' is acid-washed Americana with creeping sub-bass, closer 'Dragged Myself Into The Sun' is a full-on left hook, drones stacked like lasagna and pumped with steroids. There is pop centre pieces like 'I Can See You' and the velvet-lined anthem 'I'm Looking Up', dealing with grief and death, recalling the rawest edges of Krautrock and, for Kennedy, nods to Baltimore artists Panda Bear and the strange currencies of Animal Collective.
